Na het vertrek van corona uit het maatschappelijke debat en het afschaffen van de belangrijkste maatregelen hoopten uitbaters van bioscopen en filmhuizen unaniem op een heropleving van de bezoekerscijfers. De waarheid is dat de optimistische tendens van filmjaar 2019 verder weg voelt dan ooit. Dat ligt niet alleen aan de vertoners en de grillen van bezoekers. Bioscopen en filmhuizen lijden, streamingdiensten verleiden.
Toen we afgelopen voorjaar voor het eerst in lockdown gingen, kwam Cineville, de dienst die in Nederland abonnementen voor een grote groep filmhuizen faciliteert, met een tijdelijke streamingdienst die het verlies van het grote doek moest opvangen. Voor CINE reflecteer ik kort op hoe de zaken er nu voorstaan en geef ik tien filmtips waarmee je je tijd thuis in ieder geval nog even door kunt komen.
