Roskam (Rundskop, The Drop) hintte met zijn nieuwe film al opzichtig naar de Oscars: met een release in het najaar (pre-premières op Venetië en Toronto) is een titel met twee grotere sterren al vlug in the picture. Matthias Schoenaerts en Adèle Exarchopoulos schitteren binnen de veilige kaders van dit oerdegelijke misdaaddrama, dat sinds een weekje ook de Nederlandse zalen betrekt.
