Het was een geweldig filmjaar. Ik zag meer titels dan ooit: in de bioscoop/pers, op filmfestivals, thuis… Na mijn verhuizing richting Antwerpen bleek daarnaast dat ik op twee straten woonde van een prachtige arthousebioscoop , die binnen het studieprogramma van mijn opleiding een prominente plaats zou innemen. Zo kon het gebeuren dat ik mijn studie Film en Visuele Cultuur ging combineren met ontspannen uitstapjes naar Cinema Zuid, waar ik o.a. al City Lights, On the Waterfront, La Notte en Jules et Jim zag.
Aanstaande woensdagavond zit ik er klaar voor: na een grove vijfentwintig jaar keert Schwarzeneggers semi-vriendelijke Terminator uit Judgment Day (1991) weer terug op het witte doek….
Blade Runner is een science-fiction klassieker uit 1982, die over het algemeen beschouwd wordt als één der betere films die binnen dat genre gemaakt zijn. Regisseur Ridley Scott ziet deze film zelfs als zijn beste en favoriete werk. Ik had ‘em nog niet gezien, en met het oog op het op handen zijnde vervolg (dat uitkomt in 2017, na 35 jaar!) was deze film een absolute must-see.
